PickPulse Questions Competition Rules

PickPulse General Knowledge Questions competitions are short, timed online quizzes organised for participating clubs and charities. Each competition has its own entry period, entry fee and prizes.

Entering a Competition

• Choose an available competition and register or log in.
• Each player may have one entry per competition.
• Complete the required payment, unless entry is free.
• Entry is available only during the competition's scheduled entry period.

The Quiz

• Each player receives 10 multiple-choice questions.
• Each question has four possible answers.
• Select an answer and submit it to move to the next question.
• Once an answer has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

Quiz Timer

Your personal quiz timer starts when you press Start My Quiz. The time allowed is displayed before you begin.

The timer is controlled by the PickPulse server. It continues running if you refresh, close or leave the page. Returning to an unfinished quiz does not restart the timer.

You must start your quiz while the competition is open. Players who start before the closing time can use their full personal quiz time, even if the competition closes meanwhile.

When your personal time expires, the quiz automatically ends. Answers already submitted are retained; unanswered questions receive no credit.

Scoring

• 1 point for each correct answer.
• 0 points for an incorrect answer.
• 0 points for an unanswered question.
• The highest possible score is 10 points.

Tie-Breakers

Final standings are determined in the following order:

1. Highest number of correct answers.
2. Lowest total response time.
3. Earliest competition entry.
4. Lowest entry ID, if all other criteria are equal.

Each ranked player receives a unique finishing position. Players who never start their quiz are not included in the rankings.

Final Results

Final standings are prepared after the competition closes and all started quiz attempts have finished. PickPulse confirms the final results before they are published.

Payments and Prizes

Creating an account alone does not secure a paid competition entry. Payment must be completed where an entry fee applies. Prize details are displayed on the relevant competition page.
